Today we started our home study interviews! The home study includes an in-depth written self-assessment (ours was over 40 single-spaced pages) and an online assessment designed specifically for married couples planning on adoption. After that work is complete we have 9 hours of interviews spread out over three different days. Today’s interview was all about our families of origin and backgrounds, the second day will be about our marriage, and the third day will be about our current family and our preparation to adopt.
Once all this is done then our social worker will write up her report, which will take about a month.
